Atlantic Shores Goes Green as Area’s First Pearl Neighborhood

Did you know that Atlantic Shores is the first official “Pearl Neighborhood” in South Hampton Roads?

Established by the Lynnhaven River Now! partnership, this special designation is given to residential communities that care about the environment and create programs which help restore and protect our Virginia Beach waterways.

Supported and directed by our Green Committee, individual residents and our community as a whole are taking steps to conserve, re-use and recycle natural resources to make a positive impact on our local environment.

Our Community Project includes 65 garden plots within our Victory Garden, with produce raised by volunteer resident gardeners shared with fellow residents.

Also, the beautiful courtyard gardens in our Harborway Assisted Living and Seaside Health Center will be irrigated with water from new rain barrels to help conserve water.
