Our exceptional family of employees is just another reason our residents love to call Atlantic Shores home. A special bond exists between our team and our residents, which is especially evident in some of our long-term caregiving staff, some of whom have worked here almost two decades.

Dara Wilson has been with us more than 16 years and started working at Atlantic Shores as a dietary aide for our Seaside Health Center while she was still in high school.  She quickly moved into the dietary supervisor role due to her excellent work ethic. After high school, she went on to pursue her career in nursing. After graduating and gaining a year of experience in a hospital setting, Dara returned to Atlantic Shores, where she worked both at Seaside and our Harbourway assisted living facility as an exceptional nurse. Her dedicated level of care has earned her praise from residents, families and staff members alike. Recently, she was promoted to Unit Manager of Harbourway, where she serves as a leader and mentor and works hard to instill her work ethics in her staff.

Valerie Holden is another outstanding long-term employee. Valerie started here as an intern in 1997, shortly after our community opened.  She was hired as an Activities Assistant, and immediately showed a passion for her work that was felt by not only residents but also her fellow staff. She was promoted to Activities Director at Seaside while continuing to expand her education — becoming licensed as an Administrator of Assisted Living. In 2007, when Harbourway opened, Valerie took over the responsibility of activities programs for the entire healthcare community. Within six months, it was obvious that she would best serve as Harbourway’s Assistant Administrator. In this role, Valerie has helped develop programs that make our assisted living facility the amazing place it is today. She’s known for making each person feel special, and for giving residents at any stage of health a purpose in life again.
