Benefit Details
Our employees enjoy competitive compensation, excellent benefits and exciting growth opportunities. We offer a full range of benefits to all full-time employees, defined as those working at least 32 hours per week or 64 hours per pay period. Your employee benefits are effective on the 90th day of employment. Please note that benefits are subject to change, and you’ll receive informative and detailed information upon confirmation of employment.
Paid Time Off
PTO (paid time off) is earned as outlined in the chart below* and is accrued during each pay period based on the sum of actual hours worked and on hours away on PTO. The accrual year is measured from anniversary to anniversary date. The accrual rate is calculated on a maximum of 80 hours worked per pay period. PTO will not accrue once an employee reaches the maximum accrued hours until the employee reduces his or her PTO below the accrual limit.

Medical Insurance
Optima Health is our insurance provider and we offer four different options: 2 Health Saving Account (HSA) Plans and 2 High Deductible plans. The Health Savings plans allow for employees to set aside additional pre-taxed dollars into an HSA account for Qualified medical expenses. Atlantic Shores matches employee HSA contributions up to $100 per month. All plans work under a non-referral policy and employees have an option to self-refer to participating specialist in the network. Dependent children are covered to age 26.

Dental Coverage
Dental Coverage is provided by Lincoln and includes diagnostic, preventive, basic and major services. Dependent children are covered until age 26.

Vision Care Program
This program is offered through Vision Benefits of America for vision exams, lenses, frames, and contact lens benefits. The coverage is free to employees. Employees have the option to cover their family at $2.33 per pay.
Life Insurance
Term Life Insurance is provided by Atlantic Shores. Hourly employees receive 1x their salary up to $50,000. Salaried employees receive 2x their salary up to $100,000. Spouses are covered at $5,000 and dependent children are covered at $2,000. Dependents are covered to age 19; full-time students are covered to age 25.
Supplemental Life Insurance is available through Lincoln Financial Group. Employees may take out a policy on themselves up to five times their annual salary. Benefit options are available in $10,000 increments up to a maximum of $300,000. An Evidence of Insurability form is required when an employee applies for coverage over $150,000.
Spousal coverage is also available up to 50% of the benefit amount the employee elects. Benefit options are available in $5,000 increments up to a maximum of $150,000. An Evidence of Insurability form is required when an employee applies for coverage over $30,000.
Dependent child coverage is also available for $.92 per pay period for $10,000 coverage. Children are covered from age 6 months to 19 years. Coverage goes up to age 25 if the dependent is unmarried and a full-time student.
Premiums for employee and spousal coverage are calculated separately, based on the amount of coverage an employee is applying for. However, spousal premiums will be based on the employee’s age.
Retirement Plan
The 401(k) Plan is available to all employees after completing their first year of service and having worked a minimum of 1,000 hours during the calendar year. Atlantic Shores offers a Safe Harbor plan, in which the employer will make matching contributions of 100% of the employee’s deferral up to 3% of the employee’s pay and 50% of the employee’s deferral on 4% and 5% of the employee’s pay. The employee’s funds and the employer’s matching contribution will be vested 100% immediately upon investment.
Employee Assistance Program
Sentara’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) puts you in touch with a full range of counseling services that address many different emotional issues. You and your family can benefit from this service free of charge. The EAP can help you find solutions for problems relating to marital conflict, family violence, depression, financial stress and many other topics.
Supplementary Benefits
Short-term Disability is available to employees through Lincoln Financial Group. Coverage begins on day eight for disability due to an illness and day one for an accident. The benefit pays 60% of your basic weekly income to a maximum benefit of $1700 per week. The maximum benefit duration is 12 weeks. Preexisting condition period is 12 months.
Long-term Disability is available to employees through Lincoln Financial Group. Long-Term Disability is intended to protect your income for a long duration after you have depleted short-term disability or any sick leave. Your benefit pays 60% of your basic weekly income up to a maximum benefit of $6000 per month. The maximum benefit duration is the later of age 65 or Social Security normal retirement age.
Legal Resources is a benefit provider of legal services. The monthly premium is $19, which covers you, your spouse and your dependent children. You will choose one firm to handle all your legal needs, such as traffic violations, real estate closings, name changes, writing a will, uncontested divorce, child support problems, adoptions, credit problems, and much more.

Allstate Accident Insurance: Allstate Benefits (AB) group voluntary accident coverage provides cash benefits for out-of-pocket expenses associated with an accidental injury, and can help protect hard-earned savings if an on- or off-the-job accidental injury occurs. No one plans to have an accident. But it can happen at any moment throughout the day, whether at work or at play. Most major medical insurance plans only pay a portion of the bills. Our policy can help pick up where the other insurance leaves off and provide cash to cover the expenses.
Allstate Cancer Insurance: Allstate Benefits (AB) group voluntary cancer coverage provides cash benefits for cancer and 29 specified diseases, and can help cover the costs of specific cancer and specified treatments and expenses as they happen. Being diagnosed with cancer or a specified disease can be difficult on anyone, both emotionally and financially. Having the right coverage to help when sickness occurs or when undergoing cancer treatments is important. Our cancer coverage can help provide added financial security when it is needed most.
Allstate Critical Illness Insurance: Coverage helps offer financial support if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness. You select the benefit coverage amount you want based on your individual need and your budget. If you have covered family members, our coverage also provides cash benefits for them. Then, if diagnosed with a covered critical illness, you will receive a cash benefit based on the percentage payable for the condition.
Holidays
Atlantic Shores grants six paid holidays per year to full-time employees after completing the 90-day introductory period. These approved holidays are as follows: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
Paydays
Atlantic Shores pays its employees on a biweekly basis for time worked Sunday to Saturday.
Tuition Reimbursement
ASCA may provide tuition reimbursement ranging from 70% to 100% to employees who enroll in courses related to the employee’s current job duties or a foreseeable future position in the organization. Employees should contact HR for more information or questions about tuition reimbursement assistance.
