Looking for a little culture?

At Atlantic Shores, you don’t have to look far – from outdoor entertainment by the Norfolk Public Jazz Band in our beautiful Harbourway garden, to classical piano concerts and big band performances at various venues on our campus.

Just down the road, enjoy live concerts at the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre, Ocean View Park, or take in a Virginia Beach Symphony or Tidewater Winds performance at the oceanfront.

Join one of our resident season ticket excursions to The Little Theatre for some drama, or dress up and experience top performing artists, Broadway productions, ballet and opera at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.

Two of the country’s premier art museums are also in our backyard – the Chrysler Museum, and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), both featuring a variety of rotating exhibits.

History comes live at a variety of local institutions, including the Mariner’s Museum, Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe, and the Virginia Air & Space Center. And explore local history firsthand in authentic settings as you tour a variety of historic period homes, including the nearby Ferry Plantation House.

Want to take in a game? The Norfolk Tides professional minor league baseball team swings for the fences at Harbor Park, and the Norfolk Admirals East Coast Hockey League team burns up the ice at the Scope Arena.

Like to unwind on the links? There are more than 20 golf courses in the area, including the beautiful Red Wing Golf Course located right across the other shoreline from Atlantic Shores!

And speaking of natural beauty, our area is noted for a diverse ecosystem, which can be fully appreciated with a visit to the Brock Environmental Center, and the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. And of course there’s fun on the shore and on the water with the Atlantic Ocean at our doorstep, from dolphin tours and fishing excursions, to scenic rides aboard the Rudee Rocket!

However you like to have fun, Atlantic Shores and our surrounding neighborhoods have you covered!

Check out our Area Attractions map for more details on the Virginia Beach lifestyle.
