Our senior living team is composed of dedicated individuals who proudly give their best. From friendly staff members who greet you by name to health care professionals who treat your loved one like family, every one of our team members is committed to providing a positive experience each and every day.

Here are some of the exceptional senior living professionals who add their passion, thoughtfulness and experience to the Atlantic Shores community.

JENNY MAUGERI

Executive Director

Jenny Maugeri has served the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community since 2008. She is well-suited to stand at the helm of this award-winning community where she now directs all day-to-day operations for Atlantic Shores residents and staff on its 100-acre lakeside campus.

Jenny graduated with honors from Radford University with a degree in business administration. She also was captain of the school’s NCAA Division I field hockey team.

A Virginia Beach native, Jenny married her high school sweetheart Mike. They live in Virginia Beach with their four children. Jenny can handle anything that comes her way to keep Atlantic Shores running smoothly.

CAMERON GWALTNEY

Director of Marketing and Sales

Cameron Gwaltney, a Virginia Beach native, spent the first decade of his career pursuing his first passion, music. As a vocational worship pastor, he grew the skills of servant leadership, coaching and counseling that served him well in his transition into the senior living industry in 2015. Cameron counts it a privilege to walk with seniors as they navigate the complex emotional, psychological and physical barriers involved in the decision to move to a community like Atlantic Shores. After years of successful selling in independent living, assisted living and memory care communities, Cameron joined the Atlantic Shores team in 2020 as the Director of Marketing and Sales. Now residing in Norfolk with his wife, Whitney, Cameron can still be found pursuing his first passion on Sunday mornings at Trinity Church.

TRIPP LITTLE

Managing Director of Operations

Tripp oversees all day-to-day operations, including food and beverage, housekeeping, resident services, security, plant services and campus insurance. He develops budget plans to maintain and increase overall revenue and profitability of our community. He continually supports, trains and inspires his staff, and attends to the daily needs of residents and guests.

Tripp joined the Atlantic Shores team in 2007 as clubhouse manager. He finds it rewarding to work alongside a group of talented professionals who have a long-term vision for the support and development of not just staff, but the resident community as well. His background with private clubs and food and beverage management includes a previous position as clubhouse manager at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, giving him experience that directly applies to his role at Atlantic Shores. He holds a BA in English and communications from East Carolina University. Tripp is also licensed as a real estate agent and a long-term care administrator.

Originally from North Carolina, Tripp resides in Kempsville with his wife and two children and loves to spend family time at the beach or the pool. He also enjoys playing golf and watching Carolina basketball.

DAPHNE WHITMIRE

Director of Human Resources

Daphne is responsible for providing services that promote a work environment characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect. She also ensures Atlantic Shores is in compliance with employment laws and serves as a resource to directors and supervisors regarding matters of employee relations. Her department seeks and provides solutions to workplace issues that support and optimize the operating principles at Atlantic Shores.

Daphne joined Atlantic Shores in 2000 and saw it grow from 150 employees to a staff of more than 350. She proudly serves as an ambassador for Atlantic Shores, expressing her employment with “The Best of the Beach.” She holds a certification as a Professional in Human Resources.

Daphne enjoys life to the fullest. She lives in Virginia Beach with her retired military husband and their two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys ministering to young women and being the number one cheerleader at her son’s sporting events.

KATHY PARKS

Resident Services Director

Kathy organizes, directs and coordinates resident services operations. The wide scope of her position includes planning, coordinating and supervising the social, educational, aquatic, health and wellness, and in-house programs. She coordinates all medical, shopping, church and valet shuttles, and makes appropriate arrangements for residents to attend activities and events away from Atlantic Shores. She also meets with new residents to familiarize them with all we offer, and coordinates moves from independent living to assisted living.

Kathy holds a BS in human services from Springfield College. Originally from New Jersey, Kathy now resides in Virginia Beach. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, snow and water skiing, and her favorite pastimes — shopping and wine tasting.

ELIZABETH DAMMEYER

Elizabeth oversees day-to-day operations of the health care facilities, including supervision of staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining operating expenses within the health care side to ensure they are in line with the budget.

Elizabeth joined Atlantic Shores in 2000 as a nurse in the Seaside Health Center for skilled nursing care. Her talents were then tapped for the creation of Harbourway — including developing the policies and procedures that currently govern this high-quality assisted living facility. In 2017, she expanded her role and became the administrator of Seaside Health Center.

Elizabeth began her career at Rochester General Hospital on a medical-surgical unit after graduating from Isabella Graham Hart nursing school in Rochester, New York, in 1994. Prior to joining Harbourway, she served as director of health services at a local assisted living facility, where she was instrumental in opening their brand-new 90-bed facility. She holds a BBA from University of Phoenix, where she was a member of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society.

She currently resides in Shawboro, North Carolina, with her wonderful husband, Kris. She has one son, Jeremy, who currently resides in the Colorado mountains. She enjoys taking care of her many animals as well as traveling, camping and kayaking.
